Paul J. Alessi (born October 9, 1974, in Queens, New York) is an Italian American actor, producer, creator, and the Founder of Alessi Films. He established a diverse professional background early in his career working as a model, personal trainer, and a commercial Teamster. Transitioning into on-screen entertainment, he made a memorable debut starring in the dramatized vignettes of TLC's iconic, award-winning 1995 music video "Waterfalls," directed by F. Gary Gray. The widespread exposure from the music video immediately launched his acting career, generating incoming offers for independent films and prompting a full transition into cinematic production. He later gained widespread national recognition as a television personality, competing as a core contestant on the inaugural 2001 season of CBS's reality competition series "The Amazing Race," executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
As a filmmaker and veteran indie producer, Alessi is widely recognized for championing powerful dramatic cinema. He served as a producer and appeared alongside Sean Patrick Flanery, Dennis Quaid, and Katrina Bowden in the acclaimed martial arts drama "Born a Champion" (2021), and acted as both the lead actor and producer for the hit indie comedy "Alpha Males Experiment" (originally titled "Knuckle Draggers"). Throughout his career, he has earned distinct critical acclaim on the independent film festival circuit for both his performance and production contributions. He received the "Best Male Actor" award at the 2006 Independent Film Festival of North Texas for his performance in the dramatic feature "Morphin(e)," a project he also produced. In 2009, his performance in "Knuckle Draggers" earned him the "Best Actor" award at the ReelHeART International Film Festival in Toronto, where the movie served as the Closing Night Film. Additionally, his work on the production was honored at the 5th Annual Delray Beach Film Festival, where he was recognized with the "Rising Star Stella Artois Award" celebrating outstanding achievements by a new filmmaker.
